Of course I had to give my trustful motorcycle a name!  Zaoie … (combo of Zen + Tao + “ie” <— for fun)) .  Anyway here I am in Nevada City the final stop on my trip before returning to Marin.  I’m putting her in her trailer.

But I now understand how cowboys could get so attached to their horses.  Zaoie has been an integral part of this journey and she has served me faithfully reliably and in all tops of terrain weather & conditions …

This is a semi-private entry.  But what the heck if you want to listen to it go for it.  It’s about what I see coming ahead upon my return to California …

Ok … I realized I had the video camera on telephoto so I decided to reshoot in a winder angle mode.  This is a bit longer.  There is some wind noise but it’s not bad.  And Zoe … she is as “lively’ as ever …

Pam Morris and I did a hike up to the Baldy Overlook along with her dog Zoe.  Besides being a very dear friend Pam is the publisher of the Mountain Express the weekly newspaper in the Ketchum/Sun Valley area.

So as I’m heading back down from Lookout to Roundhouse I pass three women whom I’d already passed on the way up.

Well maybe they weren’t exactly lost but they were thinking about heading for the top and – as late as it was – there was no way they were going to make it back before dark.  Once they got that they pretty much said “We’re with you.”

This is our trip back down on the gondola … rather entertaining …

I came across these black things hanging on poles while doing a hike on Baldy.  I’m guessing they’re to help with the pine beetle infestation …

A couple weekends ago I hiked up to the top of Baldy thinking I’d catch a ride all the way down from the top.

Wrrroooonnnnnnnng!

Now that summer is over the gondola is the only lift running on weekends and it only goes to Roundhouse.  Anyway here I am on top of Baldy realizing I’ve still got some more hiking to do …
